These pictures are really all about friends and recent events so I hope you find them interesting and for those of you
who appear here I trust that you are suitably impressed by the fact that several million people can see how you
live and work and play if they happen to stumble across this site.

One of the main events that happened in Melbourne recently was the birth of a baby Elephant and it was given
massive publicity at the time. Sandi and I went to the Zoo to have a look and these are some of the photos.

As I write this Australia is suffering from incredible floods in Queensland, NSW and Victoria with thousands
of people evacuated from their destroyed homes. Deaths have luckily been light by comparison with
20 dead in Queensland in one main area that was absolutely smashed by what has been described as
an "inland tsunami". Its not over yet with further flooding still to come and its going to take a long
time for people to get over this and get back to any kind of normal life.

Sandi and I had just been to Echuca, one of the towns involved about a week before these events and these are
some photos of what was like prior to the floods.

Mel and Al are friends and we recently went
for lunch at Misty's Diner in Melbourne.
Its a neat place to go with typical California style food

Telstra where Sandi works (and I did too for a brief period but managed to escape!!) has a very nice
new building in the Docklands area of Melbourne. This was once the main docking area for container
ships but is now an upmarket residential and business area with expensive high rise buildings, flashy
shopping and restaurants and a central stadium known as Etihad Stadium for football and other events.
